I've often thought that the best way to honour a great spirit is to reflect on the achievements of that spirit after the passing of its mortal coil through thought, word and deed. Not silence. So, the past 7 days, after the passing of Joshua Benjamin Jeyaratnam, i posted 'in memoriams', reflections, and spoke about it to my social circle. His spirit thus validated, now i move on to 7 days of silent reflection in respect, not of his passing, but of his life and all he stood for - resilience, perseverence, resolution, and love - in an effort to harness that strength and infuse it with my own.
That is how his spirit is reincarnated within the breast and mind of
some. Our conception of time leads us to think that reincarnation takes
place upon death and birth. I view 'rebirth' as something that takes
place at the point of realisation. That is when the spirit of another
finds home within the heart of the one who reflects.
OM dear brother, Joshua Benjamin Jeyaratnam,
